Earlier today a neglected Range Rover left my place for somewhere better

And now I think it cursed me upon its departure.

Whilst in town doing chores the lad says “your car is leaking water”. Yeah mate that’s just the aircon drain. No it’s leaking in the cab. And points to my pedal box...

If only it was water.

Volkswagen created a woeful piece of engineering for the clutch master cylinder mount. It’s an unsupported metal bracket that flexes over time and pedal pressure. After 16 years...the flange fitting on the line into the back of the master cylinder has cracked. I’ve got three days to get it sorted before a 2000 km round trip starting mid next week.

See that is the problem with not having a Land Rover in your life. Now all your bad luck has to concentrate on the next most unreliable vehicle and I’m afraid the VW is up.

True that. We also have a 2000 Subaru Forester with the original clutch and head gasket still in it after 230,000 kilometres and I don’t want to jinx it by arguing!
